Who Are You?

Not knowing who we are causes us to behave in a way that we don’t

recognize who we are.

What do you do better than anything else you do? What do you do better than the people around you?

What do you do without effort? What do you do without being asked?

What do you do readily without being paid? What are the three things you like most and least about yourself?

Who is the happiest person you know? Who are the two people you like

and respect the most? What is it about them that caused you to choose

them?

Who are you? Get rid of labels - mom, dad, realtor, business owner, etc. If you asked the closest person next to you who you are, what would they say? What would be on your gravestone to define who you are?

What do you believe? What do you believe in? What do you hold true?

What are the things you believe with certainty?

What motivates you? What makes you get up in the morning? What is your driving force? What gets you excited? What makes life better?

Why do you work so hard? What does hard look like?

When is enough, enough? Is there such a thing? If so, what is it? Absence of fulfillment is the absence of happiness. When you know this you can set boundaries.

What do you need control over? What is it that you seek to control in your life? What is it that you require control over to have the life you want? What do you fear? Fearless is doing something in spite of fear.

What regrets are you trying to avoid? What regrets do you need to avoid? The #1 Regret of the dying is not living their life. This is the most important question.

Are you seeking the meaning of life or are you seeking to bring meaning to your life? Who are you at the end of all of this? Who shows up to your funeral? What do you look like? How do you feel? Who is surrounding you? When people say “thank you” at your funeral, what are they saying thank you for? What is the world saying thank you for?

Knowing yourself is an imperative directive for anyone who wants to maximize their potential and live their best life. The only way a leader can gain true self-awareness is by examining their own beliefs, thoughts, actions, strengths and weaknesses and working to know themselves and better themselves. When we make a decision without reference to who we are, when our core values and beliefs, mission & vision are not the filter and compass for our decisions — poor decisions that betray us are what we get. When we make decisions without the commitment to carry through to success — poor decisions that derail us are what we get. Authenticity is simple: it’s when our values and beliefs are mirrored by our thoughts, emotions, words and actions. When our mission and vision for our lives are powered by our values and beliefs and these manifest into specific thoughts, emotions words and actions — We are living our authentic self and our best life possible.

Congratulations!

Clarity is Power.
