THE ACTION BLOCK MODEL

Why you are stuck is not random.
It is root-based.

Before you try to “do more,” figure out what is actually in your way.

Every obstacle fits into one of three categories: knowledge, skill, or fear.

STEP 1: Do you know what to do?

If you do not, you are facing a Knowledge Gap.

You are not lazy. You are unclear.
You need direction, not motivation.

What to do:

  • Get clarity.

  • Ask better questions.

  • Identify the next right step.

  • Replace uncertainty with structure and a simple roadmap.

Ask yourself:

“What is unclear or missing that is keeping me from moving forward?”

STEP 2: Do you know how to do it?

If you know what to do but not how, you are facing a Skill Gap.

You understand the concept, but you have not built the reps yet.

What to do:

  • Practice.

  • Role-play.

  • Learn through repetition until it feels natural.

Confidence is built in the doing.

Ask yourself:

“If I had to do this today, what part would feel hard or unfamiliar?”

STEP 3: You know what and how - but you are still not doing it.

That is not a knowledge or skill problem.
That is a Fear Gap.

Now the question becomes: Is your fear rational or irrational?

Rational Fear — Fact-Based

Example:
“If I quit my job tomorrow, I cannot pay my mortgage.”

That is reality, not resistance.

What to do:

  • Plan.

  • Manage the risk.

  • Take bold steps in a smart sequence.

Reduce the danger without killing the dream.

Ask yourself:

“What risk am I protecting myself from, and what is a smarter way to reduce it?”

Irrational Fear — False Evidence Appearing Real

Example:
“If I post a video, people will think I am stupid.”

That is opinion, not fact.

You have two paths:

  • Therapy – for deeper, emotional, or trauma-based fear.

  • Exposure – for narrative-based fear. Start small, test the truth, and let results rewrite the story.

Ask yourself:

“What proof do I have that this fear is true?
What is one small way I could test it today?”

THE SIMPLE TRUTH

If you are stuck, it is always one of three things:

  • You do not know what to do (Knowledge)

  • You do not know how to do it (Skill)

  • Or you are afraid to do it (Fear)

When you name the real block, you can choose the real solution.

REFLECTION

“If you did not have this fear or confusion, what would you be doing differently right now?”

That is your next move.
